WHEN THERE’S NO CEREMONY, IT’S CREATED BY ITSELF

WHEN THERE’S NO CEREMONY, IT’S CREATED BY ITSELF

The collection contains three sets, each of which refers to a moment of contentment. They represent an early morning coffee and cake or fruit, a light 10’o’clock sandwich, or an intimate meeting between friends that invites a conversation surrounding the set. These items are also available separately in the shop.

The pieces explore the connection between Friday and the characteristic courage, and how we can integrate more courage into our daily lives. Through this set for everyday rituals, we’re invited to adopt a mindset that invites us to observe the here and now.

What’s the meeting point between “courage” and Friday? For me, Friday symbolizes a mindset that invites us to be in the here and now, pausing our routine, putting our thoughts aside, and just enjoying the moment. To adopt and enjoy this mindset on a daily basis requires courage, and in this story, courage reflects the ability to listen to ourselves, pause, and let the special rituals of Friday integrate into our daily lives.

TECHNIQUE. I chose to place the different earth tones and mixing technique at the center of the collection. The pieces are true to the color of the clay, with no additives. They stand exposed and honest in front of you - brave, no? All pieces were made by hand using a rolling pin.

DEDICATION. The collection is dedicated to anyone who needs it. It’s a boost of courage, an invitation for you to enjoy the moment and make room for leisure, no matter what time of day it is.
